ZEC submits US$274 million budget for 2018 general elections

Appearing before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development, Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) chairperson Justice Rita Makarau said that the commission has submitted a US$274 million budget to Treasury for the 2018 general elections.

Makarau also reiterated that affidavits will be accepted for those without proof of residence during the voter registration process. She also advised those with identification cards which indicate that they are aliens to regularise their identification cards to show that they are Zimbabwean citizens.
