Farmer loses 120 tonnes of maize to veld fire

A veld fire has reportedly destroyed 120 tonnes of maize at Burnbank Farm near Mubaira. The maize had been harvested from a 40-hectare piece of land and was awaiting shelling. Farm owner, Audrey Hativagone, said that she is yet to assess the amount of maize burnt in the fields but confirmed that other fields were also affected.
