Women’s Bank to be housed in POSB's unused banking halls, former POSB workers to be hired
Women Affairs Minister Nyasha Chikwinya has said that the Women’s Bank will be housed in unused Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) banking halls and that former workers will be hired to work in the Women’s Bank.
Said Chikwinya:
The ministry is in partnership with POSB, which has branches all over the country, and after some of their branches were closed due to lack of business, we requested them to allow us to use them all. The Women’s Bank is progressing well, but it is not easy for us to begin operations because a lot of things still need to be done, for example, we need to install information communication technology (ICT) so that we start to operate.
FeedbackChikwinya said that the bank will be opened around September but said that setting up the ICT programme will need at least 90 days.
