Mphoko says he never agreed with the Command concept from day one

In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko said that he did not agree with the Command or planned economy concept.

When asked by The Sunday Mail if Command Agriculture had Cabinet’s full backing following attacks by Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo, Mphoko said:

I don’t know how you want to put it. The (Command Agriculture) programme, I don’t want to put some of these words you are talking because I have never agreed with them. I have trained in the Soviet Union and I know what a planned economy is, but I am saying and we must be very careful not to distort our programmes. Because if you give a headline on a particular subject or a title to a book stick to the title, don’t distort it.
