White farmer takes Mombeshora to court, wants Govt to give him offer letter

In an urgent application, Marondera farmer Stephen Worswick is seeking an order to compel Mashonaland East chief lands officer Edgar Mbwembwe and Lands Minister Douglas Mombeshora to issue him with an offer letter within three months of an order being given by the court.

Worswick states that he was given the piece of land measuring 400ha comprising 150ha of arable land at Chipunga Farm after he offered two farms to the government and in 2000. He said that he was surprised to be served with a served with a notice to vacate since the land had been given to him. Worswick argues that he deserves an offer letter like any Zimbabwean who was given land during the land reform programme. The matter is yet to be set down for hearing.
