Steward Bank suspends payment for DStv due to foreign currency shortages

Steward Bank has announced that it has suspended payments to South Multichoice’s DStv due to foreign currency shortages.

In a statement, Steward Bank said:

To assist in the effective allocation of foreign currency reserves at this critical time, we would like to advise that with immediate effect, the bank has suspended DStv (digital satellite televison) payments for all account classes (except premium).

This move shows or likely means that the shortage of the United States dollar is worsening in Zimbabwe.
