Brother of notorious Masendeke sentenced to 26 years in prison

21-year old Andrew Masendeke was sentenced to 26 years in prison after facing three counts of robbery, two of unlawful entry and two for kidnapping. Regional magistrate Morgan Nemadire suspended seven years on condition of good behaviour. Another seven years were suspended on condition that Masendeke restitutes the complainants, leaving an effective sentence of 12 years. Andrew is the younger brother to, the late notorious criminal and murderer Edgar Edmund Masendeke who was hanged in 2002 after a crime spree.
