We will deal with fake news sites tarnishing the image of the country says Supa

Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Supa Mandiwanzira has said that the government will soon clamp down on websites which were promoting fake news and tarnishing the image of the country. Mandiwanzira blamed people in the diaspora and “shadowy NGOs” for running and funding these sites.

Said Mandiwanzira

There are many websites which are peddling falsehoods about the country. Most websites founded by people living in the diaspora and sponsored by shadow NGOs have been in the forefront. However, this would be the thing of the past as the sun is slowly setting on them.

This comes as the government is looking at introducing The Computer Crime and Cybercrime Bill.
