Joshua Nkomo Foundation reacts angrily to claims that Nkomo supported Dynamos

The foundation of the late Vice-President Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo has angrily dismissed recent claims in the media, which suggested that the late Father Zimbabwe supported Dynamos Football Club. The claims are said to have been said by Nkomo’s former head of security Nehemiah Nyathi. Joshua Nkomo Foundation chief executive officer Jabulani Hadebe, who is also in charge of the Nkomo Memorial Museum said:

I would like to advise the public that the article published … is very incorrect and malicious for public consumption.

…Nkomo was a staunch supporter of Highlanders, a life member and its patron. Being part of the Bosso family was not only by choice, but his birth right, cultural identity and heritage.

The foundation is still trying to come to terms with…Nyathi’s poisonous insinuation, its intended purpose and audience. It is against the true spirit of comradeship to thrive on such falsehoods.

Highlanders and Dynamos are bitter rivals.

  1. Being a staunch Highlanders supporter dies not stop anyone from supporting Dynamos. What if Mqabuko was a staunch Highlanders supporter and a casual Dynamos supporter. That us not criminal.
