Video: Air Zim rebrands to Zimbabwe Airways, leases 4 planes from Malaysia
Troubled national airline Air Zimbabwe has rebranded itself and acquired 4 Boeing 777-200 planes from Malaysia Airlines on a long term lease. The deal was reportedly signed by Air Zimbabwe’s chief operating officer, and President Robert Mugabe’s son-in-law Simba Chikore. This comes after Air Zimbabwe has been in the press for many negative reasons, including being banned from flying to the European Union due to safety concerns. The United States of America has also barred its employees and warned its citizens from using Air Zimbabwe.
