Pastor Garikai Muvirimi who is the founder and leader of Bread of Life Ministries in Bulawayo refused to pay $250 maintenance for his two children with Ms Dudzai Kurehwandishe stating that he was poor and could afford to pay $50.
Muvirimi walked out of court and told magistrate Mr Tinashe Tashaya that he was unemployed and could not pay the $250. However, Mr Tashaya said that Muvirimi’s claims were not true as his EcoCash statement showed that he gets more than $500 every month. After Muvirimi walked out of court, Tashaya advised Ms Kurehwandishe to obtain a warrant of arrest and have him arrested if he failed to pay maintenance. B-Metro published a story that Muvirimi left his family and went to stay in church so as to minimise travelling costs. However, his wife allegedly discovered that he was having an affair with a congregant.
