Apostle Wutawunashe and wife fight over church property in messy divorce

Founder and leader of Family of God Church, Apostle Andrew Wutawunashe and his estranged wife Rutendo Faith are engaged in a bruising legal battle over the distribution of church assets. The two have six children together and are in the processing of divorcing. Apostle Wtawunashe contends that the two were married in the year 2000, and argues that all the church property belongs to the church and is not part of the matrimonial property. In his court papers Wutawunashe says:

The additional property that defendant(Rutendo) refers to is exclusive church property which does not form part of the matrimonial assets.

A church is a universitas, a legal friction, an aggregation of individuals forming a persona or entity having the capacity of acquiring rights and incurring obligations to a great extent as a human being.

Rutendo Faith, on the other hand, argues that the two were actually married in 1980 and that since all the church assets were acquired after the marriage, they should be considered matrimonial property. She also accused Apostle Wutawunashe of engaging in an extramarital relationship with an unnamed Tswana woman.
