Speaking to The Herald, Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed that they are investigating an incident where High Court Additional Sheriff Mr Respect Chimombe was beaten by MDC-T youth in a bid to block him from serving Morgan Tsvangirai with summons in which he is being sued by Mr Moreprecision Muzadzi who is claiming $80 000 for facilitating a coalition ahead of the 2013 elections.
Said Nyathi:
We can confirm that the Zimbabwe Republic Police have received a report in which an Additional Sheriff of the High Court was allegedly assaulted by MDC-T youths at Harvest House. Police attended the scene and investigations are still in progress.
Chimombe lost a file containing writs of execution, summons and other processes for other parties.
