Chihuri sues Chiwenga’s father in-law over $212 345

Police Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri, has approached the courts seeking to compel a local auctioning firm, KM Auctions (Pvt) Ltd owned by Constantino Chiwenga’s father in-law Keni Mubaiwa, to forward $212 345 realised through selling the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s property throughout the country.

KM Auctions is yet to respond to the summons that were filed by the Civil Division of the Attorney-General (AG)’s Office on June 9, 2017. In his summons, Chihuri states that his office entered into an agreement in 2015 whereby KM Auctions would auction Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) motor vehicles, motorcycles, pedal cycles, quad bikes and redundant spares and obsolete equipment, and deposit the proceeds of the auction into the ZRP bank account.

Chihuri alleges that before filing summons, his office had written to KM Auctions on March 7 this year asking them to remit the proceeds within 7 days or risk being taken to court. The matter is pending at the High Court.
