Knowledge Musona scores hat-trick as Warriors win against Liberia

Warriors captain, Knowledge Musona scored three goals as the senior men’s team beat Liberia in their first AFCON 2019 qualifier played at the National Sports Stadium.

Musona scored in the 23rd minute after a pass from Danny Phiri before scoring in the 48th minute after he volleyed a cross from Kuda Mahachi. The captain scored in the 61st minute. It was Zimbabwe’s first hat-trick in 13 years – Peter Ndlovu was the last man to achieve the feat. Zimbabwe lead Group G which features Congo Brazzaville and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Warriors’ next match is against Congo Brazzaville, while DRC play Liberia.
