Police clear today's Mthwakazi Republic Party’s rally

Matebeleland South Province police cleared Mthwakazi Republic Party’s rally which will be held today in Matobo North constituency which party leader, Mqondisi Moyo will run for in 2018.

The party recently failed to hold a street campaign march in Matabeleland South after police feared it might turn violent. Speaking to NewsDay, party spokesperson Mbonisi Gumbo said that they chose to launch their Matebeleland South rallies in Matobo because it has been neglected by the Zanu-PF government since independence. The party joins the Moses Mzila-Ndlovu led Alliance for National Salvation party which will only field candidates in Midlands, Bulawayo, Matabeleland North and South provinces in next year’s election.
