Auditors in court for defrauding government

Five government auditors appeared before Masvingo magistrate Peter Madiba for allegedly over claiming travel and subsistence allowances when carrying out an audit of Rutenga Registry, ZRP and CID Mwenezi offices. The five allegedly claimed that the audit would take seven days and received $355 each. However, they completed the audit in 2 days and pocketed $274 each.

The five were granted $100 bail each and will be back in court on June 14 for trial.
