Khupe denies reports that all-women campaign rally in Bulawayo is meant to propel Mujuru to lead coalition

National People’s Party leader Joice Mujuru and MDC-T Vice President Thokozani Khupe will be hosted by the Women Electoral Convergence (WEC) when they address a joint all-women campaign rally in Bulawayo tomorrow. Also in attendance will be People’s Democratic Party women’s wing chairperson, Lucia Matibenga.

Khupe also denied reports that the rally is meant to propel Mujuru as the Grand Coalition leader. Said Khupe:

My party has a candidate and we are fully behind Morgan Tsvangirai as our presidential candidate.

In an interview with NewsDay early this week, Mujuru said she was ready to lead coalition in next year’s elections.
