Harare City Council terminates 8 multi-million dollar deals, gives 4 investors ultimatum

Harare City Council has terminated 8 multimillion-dollar deals it signed with various investors after the projects failed to take off within the specified period.

Council terminated deals it signed with Ningbo Baitai of China, SBT Juul Africa, Pearl Properties, Imageburg (Pvt) (Ltd), C/O Brook (Pvt) Ltd, Zetmail (Pvt) Ltd and East Giant. Ningbo Baitai of China was supposed to construct the High Glen Textile Factory while SBT Juul Africa was supposed to construct a resort at Cleveland Dam and for the development of Harare (Madokero) Western Node. It was also supposed to upgrade Rufaro Stadium, building outstanding grand stands, create a business unit under grand stand and to install bucket seats. Acting town clerk Mrs Josephine Ncube was tasked to make a follow up on a deal with A1 Taxi Company to introduce high-volume buses to service various routes in the capital.
