Naison Khutshwekhaya Ndlovu declared a national hero

Veteran politician Naison Khutshwekhaya Ndlovu who died yesterday has been declared a national hero. He will be buried at the National Heroes Acre on Saturday.

Ndlovu was the first black mayor of Bulawayo, as well as a former Speaker of Parliament.  He was 87. He is reported to have been unwell for some time and died at his home in Luveve 4 yesterday morning.

He also served as deputy Senate president and at the time of his death he was a Zanu PF central committee member. He held several positions in Zanu PF which included Senator for proportional representation in Matabeleland South province. He is survived by his wife and two children.
