A gang of robbers consisting of two women and four men, appeared in court yesterday facing 12 counts of murder and attempted murder. Four people have died, while eight others suffered serious injuries after the gang robbed people in Hatcliffe and Kuwadzana in Harare and Ruwa since the beginning of the year.
Nelson Nyarambi (33), Bothwell Zigomo (31), Raymond Nyajina (21), Sebastian Mademo (27), Talent Gwada (24) and Nelia Mushonga (20), all from Epworth appeared before Ms Barbara Chimboza who remanded them in custody to June 12 and sdvised them to apply for bail at the High Court.
The court heard that on January 4 the gang killed a taxi driver Ophius Mudadi after they pretended to hire him. They took cash and his mobile phone, before dumping his body along a footpath near Tynwald Gardens. On May 18 at around 9pm, the six waylaid Robert Bobo at a railway line in Ruwa where they allegedly attacked him before stealing his money and cell phone.
