Warriors squad for Libya named, Captain and Vice-captain dropped

Interim Warriors coach, Norman Mapeza, has called up a 25 man squad for the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Liberia. The players are set to go into camp on Monday and the qualifier will be held on the 11th of June at the National Sports Stadium.

Newly appointed Warriors manager, Wellington Mupandare announced the 25 man squad. Captain Willard Katsande, vice-captain Cuthbert Malajila, Nyasha Mushekwi and Matthew Rusike are all missing from the squad although Mupandare denied that the quartet had been dropped as per Chiyangwa’s orders for allegedly leading the boycott of a fundraising dinner organised by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
