Karoi spike throwers who caused death of woman offer $5 as funeral assistance

Officials from Clyna Trading in Karoi sparked an uproar after they offered to buy cabbages worth $5 at the funeral
of a woman who died, from the resulting accident after their employees threw spikes at a moving vehicle. The accident happened on Tuesday. Clyna Trading has been contracted by the Karoi Town Council to manage traffic in the town.

The firm offered to assist the family of Mrs. Chiedza Mandizvidza (59) with $5 to buy cabbages, two drums of water, 11 loaves of bread and meat on Wednesday. After a row erupted with the family members the firm offered another $30 to buy relish.

The family and the officials were still to come to an agreement over a $500 loan, which would be deducted from the salary of one of Mrs. Mandizvidza’s relatives who is employed by Karoi Town Council.
