Low tourist arrivals and low hotel occupancy in Nyanga blamed on poor roads

The Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) has revealed that hotels and attraction sites in Nyanga recorded a low 25 percent occupancy rate in the first 3 months of the year. The association blamed the poor turnout on the poor state of the roads leading up to the Eastern Highlands.

Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) Chairperson for the Nyanga Region, Mr Charlton Chimbira decried the low occupancy, although he noted that domestic tourism is now on an upward trend.

Nyanga is home to the highest mountain in the country, Inyangani Mountain and tallest falls in the country, the Mtarazi Falls as well as the Worlds View and Nyangombe Falls.
