Headmaster and Bursar jailed for burning offices to conceal mismanagement

The headmaster and bursar of Chemhondoro Primary School in Marondera were convicted of malicious damage to property after the duo connived to burn the school office to destroy evidence of mismanagement. Douglas Matonzi, the Headmaster, was sentenced to five years in prison by Murewa Magistrate Chiedza Gadzi. Six months were suspended on condition of good behavior.

The pair connived to burn the office after  government auditors had visited the school in January. The bursar, Tendai Zambezi, was convicted in January and sentenced to 5 years in prison.
