Chiwenga’s ex-wife challenges $99 000 agricultural inputs debt

Jocelyn Chiwenga who is the former wife of Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Constantino Chiwenga has approached the High Court demanding that Tian Ze Tobacco, gives her a detailed breakdown of a $99 000 agricultural inputs debt, which dates back to four years ago when she got a loan.

Chiwenga states that when Tian Ze Tobacco summoned her to court on February 3 this year accusing her of refusing to pay the debt, she immediately requested for a detailed breakdown of the arrears, but the firm refused to co-operate. She also said that the firm instituted a claim of $99 014,21 which was dismissed by an arbitrator T Garabga based on the same facts. Chiwenga said that she is requesting a breakdown because Tian Ze Tobacco is claiming the same amount as it claimed before the arbitration proceedings. The matter is yet to be set down for hearing.
