Chiyangwa denies making fun of Mzembi's UNWTO Election loss, says he sympathises

Zifa President Phillip Chiyangwa has spoken out against images circulating on social media which make fun of Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi’s UNWTO Election loss. Mzembi who was aiming to become secretary General of the UNWTO lost the runoff 15-18 to Mr. Zurab Pololikashvilli of Georgia. In the message circulating on social media, Chiyangwa allegedly chides a “cashless” Mzembi for going to the elections without a campaign manager.

Said Chiyangwa:

I have seen an image circulating on social media with me being quoted defaming Dr. Mzembi.

Let me urge those circulating this defamatory image to desist from doing so.

I have great respect for Minister Mzembi and he displayed tireless effort in campaigning for the UNWTO post. I sympathize with him for the loss. The defamatory image circulating on social media should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves.
