Air Zimbabwe does it again, only 4 passengers on Johannesburg to Harare flight

Struggling national airline Air Zimbabwe has reportedly flown only 4 passengers on a flight from Johannesburg, South Africa to Harare Zimbabwe. According to one of the 4 passengers on the flight, the airline also issued them with handwritten boarding passes. Only last month, the financially crippled airline issued a statement denying that it was now using handwritten boarding passes and described the incident which had gone viral on social media and the traditional media as an anomaly.

Audrey Chimwanda one of the passengers shared this:

The airline has been in the media for the wrong reason most of this year. In February the hapless airline, also flew from Harare to Johannesburg with only three passengers. The company has also been leasing planes from other irlines in order to service its routes after most of its fleet was grounded at one point. The airline owes creditors $300 million dollars and President Mugabe’s son-in -law Simba Chikore was appointed the airlines’ Chief Operating Officer in a move which was described as nepotism by critics.
