Mujuru negotiating with other parties despite MoU with Tsvangirai

National People’s Party (NPP) leader Joice Mujuru’s spokesperson Gift Nyandaro confirmed to Daily News that Mujuru is negotiating with other political parties despite signing a memorandum of understanding with MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

Nyandoro said that they are negotiating with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Tendai Biti. Said Nyandoro:

It is true that as NPP we have been having formal, informal bilateral and multilateral engagement with other political parties we perceive as progressive. You will recall that before we rebranded from Zimbabwe People First to NPP, PDP members consistently attended our rallies in solidarity with us and what you are about to see anytime soon is a culmination of those engagements that have been going on underground, which are coming to fruition as we move to make sure that the grand coalition becomes a reality.

NPP sources that spoke to Daily News said that Mujuru is engaging in talks with other political parties to strengthen her position in ongoing talks with Tsvangirai.
