CAPS United leaves for Egypt for CAF Champions league group opener

CAPS United departed from the Harare International Airport on Wednesday at 1:30PM. The club’s captain Hardlife Zvirekwi said that they will not let down the nation when they take on five-time champions Zamalek of Egypt in Cairo on Friday night in their CAF Champions League group phase opening match.

Said Zvirekwi:

This is another task for Caps United and for the nation as a whole. Obviously we do not want to go out there and disappoint the nation. We will go and fight, show what we are made of. They (Zamalek) have vast experience in the African safari but we also want to make history. The journey started last year when we won the Zimbabwean championship and we want to finish it by winning the African cup. The coach has prepared us mentally and we are ready for the battle.
