Mnangagwa set to fly to Masvingo ahead of Zanu-PF polls

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to fly to Masvingo where he is expected to officially open a private ward at Masvingo General Hospital which was refurbished by the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

However, Zanu-PF sources told NewsDay that Mnangagwa may also use the opportunity to drum up support for for former chairperson, Ezra Chadzamira ahead the party’s provincial chairman election rerun.  The elections will be supervised by, acting Masvingo provincial chairperson, Joram Gumbo and Matabeleland North Provincial Affairs minister Cain Mathema.

The elections were called off a few weeks ago following reports that some party districts had not voted, as they were inaccessible due to the rains. Masanganise who managed to amass 4 888 votes at the time, also challenged the results, alleging massive electoral irregularities.
