Retired Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku died today (Wednesday) in Johannesburg, South Africa from kidney and liver complications. He was 70 years old. He was undergoing treatment.
He retired at the end of February this year after he reached the mandatopry retirement age of 70. He was succeeded by his then deputy and now Chief Justice Luke Malaba as leader of the judicary. He was ther country’s Chief Justice since he took over from Chief Justice Anthony Gubbay in 2001.
Mourners are gathered at number 16855, Runlay Road off Orange Groove, Highlands, Harare.
