Kenya Airways launches Nairobi, Victoria Falls and Cape Town route

A fully booked Kenya Airways Embraer E190 landed at Victoria Falls International Airport yesterday as Kenya Airways became the second major African airline to fly direct to Victoria Falls in the last two months. Kenya Airways will operate three times a week between Nairobi, Victoria Falls and Cape Town in South Africa.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Dr Joram Gumbo said

Today’s flight is testimony of route network expansion by Kenya Airways with the addition of three direct flights. The development confirms that Zimbabwe is a safe destination for investment and tourism in line with Zim-Asset as well as ensure increased connectivity for tourists and promote travel to Victoria Falls and Zimbabwe in general,” he said.

This will go a long way in further boosting confidence in our country and easing the travel challenges of tourists and investors from Africa and other parts of the world. This is welcome given that the Government has declared Victoria Falls a Special Economic Zone
