State media alleges that Kasukuwere hired hooligans and bribed provincial members ahead of today's crunch meeting

State media has alleged that under-fire Zanu -PF National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere spent the whole day on Tuesday mobilising forces to protect himself from being removed as the party’s national political commissar at a crunch meeting scheduled for today. Zanu-PF has dispatched a delegation to Mashonaland Central to resolve the petition calling for the removal of Kasukuwere and his brother Dickson Mafios.

Kasukuwere is alleged to have bribed provincial members to support him at today’s meeting. He is also alleged to have recruited hooligans to support him at today’s crunch meeting.  A source quoted by the Chronicle says:

Today (yesterday) we witnessed in the province massive mobilisation by the G40 cabal,We had vehicles criss-crossing the width and breadth of the province.

It is alleged provincial members and those who constitute the PCC (Provincial Coordinating Committee)were being given money and other incentives to support the embattled national political commissar. We are also advised that hooligans who comprise mainly former members of Border Gezi Youth Training Centre and some rogue elements have been hired to show support for  Kasukuwere in a last minute bid, and a desperate one, after all provinces disowned the national political commissar.
