Some members of the Coalition for Democrats (Code) are reportedly unhappy that Professor Welshman Ncube’s MDC party had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC-T. Some of the members are suspicious of Professor Ncube claiming that he signed the MOU without consulting other members of Code.
Ipithule Maphosa, the Zapu spokesperson said:
Code leaders always hold weekly meetings but I am not sure if the issue of Ncube/Tsvangirai MoU will be discussed.
As Zapu we will only able to comment on the issue after hearing Ncube’s side of the story
However, MDC defended their position with party spokesperson Kurauone Chihwai said:
It is inaccurate for any genuine Code member to make those misleading and malicious allegations because everything was communicated to fellow code members in all tones and colours.
It’s too early for partners in Code to press the panic button and start wailing as if there is death in the village especially if they have not read or understood the document.
