People calling for Kasukuwere's removal are Mutsvangwa loyalists says Mphoko

Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has come out in support of under-fire Zanu-PF National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere. This comes after all 10 Zanu-PF provinces in the country have endorsed the petition calling for the removal of Kasukuwere as the National Political Commissar. Kasukuwere is being accused of setting up parallel structures in order to remove President Mugabe from power. However, Mphoko has spoken out against those calling for Kasukuwere’s removal calling them Mutsvangwa loyalists. The VP accused former war veterans leader Christopher Mutsvangwa of engineering Kasukuwere’s downfall in order to put his own person.

Addressing former Zipra and Zapu members at Castle Arms Motel in Bulawayo, the Vice-President said:

The Kasukuwere war is not about Zanu-PF. The Kasukuwere issue is between him and Mutsvangwa not Kasukuwere and Zanu-PF. They want to infiltrate you because Mutsvangwa wants to put their person.

How genuine are those people? They never speak when the President is being insulted. They just say Kasukuwere must be fired at the same time they are the people who allow others to insult the President. We’ve seen such things. Umlilo wamaphepha. Lingethuselwa likhasi lenyoka.
