Mukuru suspends Rand transfers to Zimbabwe

In a statement released on their website, Mukuru said they have temporarily suspended Rand transfers to Zimbabwe due to the currency’s shortage in the country. They have however said that they will be issuing US Dollar cash collections at all Mukuru Cash Stops and active partners.

The statement reads:

We noticed that you have sent South African Rand to your recipients in Zimbabwe, either with your last order or in previous months. Unfortunately, due to Rand shortages in Zimbabwe, Rand cash payouts are no longer reliable. Because of this, we have made the tough choice to temporarily suspended Rand transfers to Zimbabwe. This was done to ensure that we continue offering you and your recipient world class service.

BUT, it’s not all sad news. We are guaranteeing US Dollar cash collections at all Mukuru Cash Stops and active partners… Moo!! There are no additional charges for you or your recipient to send US Dollars for cash collection. It works exactly the same way as Rand cash collections.
