Zanu-PF member of parliament for Nyanga North Hubert Nyanhongo has been granted bail by the High Court after almost three weeks in custody. Nyanhongo was granted $200 bail by High Court judge Justice Nyaradzo Munangati Manongwa. He was also ordered to reside at Ranhan Plot, Dzivarasekwa, Harare, to report once every Friday at Dzivarasekwa Police Station and to surrender his pasport.
Nyanhongo was arrested on the 1st of April after allegedly attempting to sell the pangolin for $5 000. The pangolin was discovered in his vehicle and the MP was charged with possession of a pangolin and attempting to sell the endangered species. He is being charged along with Samuel Samson (42), Misheck Satuku (47) and Positive Mutenda (29).
