Zanu-PF MP & ex-Councillor named in Chitungwiza multi-million land scandal

Zanu-PF member of parliament for Chitungwiza South Christopher Chigumba has been named in a multi-million land scandal involving a former Zanu-PF Councillor Fredrick Mabamba and some urban housing experts in Chitungwiza.

According to a recent report by parliament’s local government committee the scandal swindled hundreds of home-seekers.  The report states that Chigumba and Mabamba hired some urban housing experts to make their scam look legitimate. The scam also included a member of the Zimbabwe National Army and a former MDC-T Councillor referred to as T.Marufu. Other individuals include Mrs Manhango, Makuchete, Boniface Manyonganise and Mr and Mrs Chivhanga. Mabamba illegally sold stands in Chitungwiza’s Unit A Extension which were along a stream and not serviced.
