Pastor Patrick Mugadza wants Mugabe death prophecy case referred to ConCourt

Pastor Patrick Mugadza who prophesied that President Robert Mugabe will die on October 17 this year has told the magistrates’ court that he wants the case referred to the Constitutional Court claiming that his trial is an infringement of his Constitutional rights.

His lawyer Mr Obey Shava told magistrate Nomsa Sabarauta that on May 4 he will make an application demanding Mugadza’s matter be referred to the Constitutional Court as it infringes on his client’s freedom of conscience among other rights. The State accused Mugadza of insulting the Christian religion and African tradition by predicting Mugabe’s death arguing it is taboo to do so.
