Byo man dies after being axed 5 times over petty misunderstanding

Antony Ndlovu (34) of Bulawayo allegedly fatally axed his friend Tapiwanashe Mutakaya (43) over a petty misunderstanding. Mutakaya had accused Ndlovu of being a bad friend after he had reportedly left him at the bar. This escalated and resulted in the two man engaging in a fist fight at the gate. After being separated Mutakaya allegedly followed Ndlovu to his house and revived the fight, where he was later axed to death.

Mr Lovemore Chimhene (53), Mutakaya’s nephew, said

They had played pool in opposing teams and we suspect the fight was over previous grudges because the reason of leaving each other behind at a beer spot cannot result in two elderly men fighting to that extent.

“Ndlovu was walking back home in the company of his brother in-law when Tapiwanashe came running and caught up with them. It is then that he’s said to have accused Ndlovu of being a bad fellow and demanded to know why he had left him behind.

Ndlovu was arrested at the scene
