Paramount Signature bar in Hatfield faces demolition for being built in a residential area withour approval from the Harare City Council. The owner of the bar Mr O. Chikonyora is facing a $5 000 fine or 2 years in prison for disobeying a demolition order.
Director of Works Engineer Phillip Pfukwa has written to the officer in charge at Hatfield Police Station informing him of council’s intention to demolish the bar. Council state that the bar was built in contravention of the provisions of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act, Chapter 29:12 Revised Edition 1996.
