Masvingo city says it's failing to develop because 90 percent of buildings belong to exiled whites
Officials from the city of Masvingo have claimed that the city is failing to develop due to the fact that 90 percent of the buildings are owned by exiled whites. Town Clerk Adolf Gusha claimed that the country was lagging behind in infrastructure development because the exiled property owners were not concerned with the maintenance of their buildings.
Speaking to New Zimbabwe Gusha said:
It is a sad reality that 90 percent of commercial buildings owners in the CBD are whites who now reside outside the country.
FeedbackCouncil could have loved to repossess the buildings and give it to new developers but they took tittle deeds with them leaving council’s hands tied
Gusha added that the council was working on expanding the central business district and unveiling more commercial stands for indigenous business people to construct world class buildings.
