NERA to descend on Mwenezi in a bid to stop Zanu PF in April by-election

The 13 opposition parties under the National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA) banner will on April 1, 2017 descend on Mwenezi in a bid to stop Zanu-PF.

NERA will be giving support to FreeZim Congress candidate Turner Mhango ahead of the April 8 by-election. The political parties will be hoping to cause an upset like what Temba Mliswa did in Norton with the assistance of the MDC-T and a section of the war veterans.

In a statement published on its official Twitter account NERA will be in Mwenezi to conduct a pre-election environment survey, do voter education, conduct voter registration mobilisation and to sensitize the Mwenezi villagers of the vision and mission of NERA. Mhango will face off with Zanu-PF’s Mr Joosbi Omar, National Constitutional Assembly’s Mr Welcome Masuku. Kudakwashe Bhasikiti of Zimbabwe People First withdrew from the poll citing voter intimidation and vote-buying by Zanu PF in collusion with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec).
