One of the 2 stray lions that killed 12 cattle and four donkeys in Hurungwe West over the past five weeks was shot dead last Friday after the Hurungwe Rural District Council (HRDC) engaged the services of a professional hunter.
The lion is one of adult males that strayed into Deve Point 4 in Ward 24 last month before killing 9 cattle and a donkey in the space of two weeks. The HRDC teamed up with the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority and managed to kill one of the lions before the other one escaped.
