CAPS United Football Club’s Abbas Amidu is likely to miss the season opener against Shabanie Mine Football Club at Maglas stadium, after being involved in a road accident.

Sportbrief reports that Abbas Amidu was traveling from Zvishavane to Harare when the accident occurred. Although details of the accident are still sketchy, reports state that the accident occurred in Norton when a ZUPCO Bus Amidu was traveling in veered off the road and over turned. However, it is understood that the player sustained minor injuries and is in a stable condition.

Amidu scored the solitary goal that ensured CAPS United progressed to the group stages of the CAF Champions League in Lubumbashi courtesy of his 44th minute strike.
