Former State Procurement Board chairperson arrested on 5 counts of corruption involving over 1 million

Former State Procurement Board chairperson Charles Kawaza has been arrested on 5 counts of corruption involving over $1 million and 2,5 billion Zim dollars.

Kawaza is now on life support system at Metropolitan Clinic after he fell seriously ill soon after his arrest on Wednesday. The clinic ward that Kuwaza is admitted in briefly turned into a court room as Harare Magistrate Mr Elisha Singano held remand proceedings. Kuwaza is facing one count of theft, two counts of fraud and two counts of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer.
