75 Harare residents freed for 2016 anti-government protests.

75 Harare Residents who were on trial for the 2016 anti government protests were set free today at the end of the anti-government.  The 75 were arrested on 04 July 2016 in for allegedly committing public violence. The prosecution claimed that the residents had participated in a demonstration against corruption by Zimbabwe Republic Police officers.

However, Harare Magistrate Chimboza discharged them at the close of the state case. The 75 were represented by Trust Maanda, Harrison Nkomo, Dorcas Chitiyo and Jeremiah Bamu of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
