Zimbabwe Rugby Union to build stadium in Victoria Falls

The Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) has approached Victoria Falls Town Council for land to build a rugby stadium in the resort town. This comes after the Cheetahs won the inaugural Kwese Sports Victoria Falls Sevens rugby tournament which will be held in the resort town for the next 5 years.

Speaking to The Chronicle, ZRU President Nyararai Sibanda said that talks with Victoria Falls Town Council were at an advanced stage. He however stated that the stadium will not be built next year as they are yet to identify partners. Zimbabwe Cricket was also allocated land in the industrial area to build a 10 000 seater stadium but plans were put on hold due to lack of funding.
