Former Minister’s son pleads with ConCourt to hear his application on witchcraft

Mangwiza, son of former cabinet minister Aeneas Chigwedere yesterday pleaded to the Constitutional Court for it to hear his application. Mangwiza is alleging that his father and stepmother are practising witchcraft which is adversely affecting the whole family and he wants the court to order the whole Chigwedere family to undergo a cleansing ceremony.

However, the court ruled that it was going to postpone the case due to the fact that it had no confirmation that four of the thirty-two respondents had been served with the court papers.

This did not go down well with Mangwiza who asked the court.

Are you, therefore, saying this matter cannot proceed just because four other respondents are not here? Are you saying we perish because the sheriff has not served other respondents?
